Zebedy Rays manage to get their whole ebullient, energetic, live sound captured in the sterile studio environment like no other band I know. The whole Zebedy Rays performing ethos revolves around their spontaneity, controlled aggression and youthful energy but, more than that, they write with fire in their bellies, with a passion that's near tangible and somehow they're able to take that whole powerhouse, explosive attitude with them wherever they go. Now that's fine, there are loads of bands that do that but there aren't many that can take it into the studio and still make it work - that's where Zebedy Rays have the edge, that extra strength!!  Zebedy Rays are possibly from another planet and they're just here to test us out and see if we're worthy.  

This mini album, six tracks in all, is an exceptional piece of work - but, words actually fail me, I'm so distracted by what's pouring from the speakers as I write that I'm truly struggling to do written justice to what is a rare musical treasure, a constantly evolving entity of beautiful 'noise', an electrifying musical outing of the highest order. Seriously, Zebedy Rays aren't just special, they're a true rarity, a wondrous thing, an unfathomable enigma of rockin' genius. Zebedy Rays play with a freedom that's hard to define and yet everything seems so well organised, so rigid in form, so well structured that it can't possibly sound so raw and alive!! Zebedy Rays are, without doubt, one of the most impressive bands I've ever come across - undeniably talented, richly flamboyant, unbelievably energetic and just so damn clever!!
